After the previous nights first Hawk-moth of the year, two more turned up last night, Lime Hawk-moth and Poplar Hawk-moth.
Micro moth numbers are steadily increasing with 5 newcomers for the year list.
A heavy shower during the night meant wet traps this morning but a nice variety of moths were recorded ... year first moths in bold.

21st Aug 2013 ... New micros
This may have been overlooked in the past as it is quite common nationally and in VC 30
Udea lutealis, Pale Straw Pearl, was also added as a garden first and probably overlooked previously.
Lesser Wax Moth, Achroia grisella, was a year first and only the second record for garden.
Others included Mompha propinquella, Aethes smeathmanniana and 5 x Epermenia chaerophyllella with a mass of Acentria ephemerella (Water Veneer).
Of the macros, Old Lady and 3 x Centre-barred Sallow were the pick of the crop.
