A window of opportunity opened for a brief while last night before the next Atlantic low hit.
On went the 15w actinic on the sheltered shed wall and an Early Grey duly obliged ...

The mild conditions (10 deg daytime) encouraged  a Hebrew Character to my shed light. This was my earliest garden record.
Last year, Hebrew Character was first recorded on 7th April, a reflection of the unusually cold spring.

10 deg C last night with rain showers .... no arctic vortex here yet
Cooler conditions on the way tho.
No problem, after all it is January but let's hope that Spring is warmer than last year.

Mild conditions for a couple of days so I put a trap on last night and a Common Plume duly obliged to kick off 2014 .... Happy New Year all.

After a very lean last 2 weeks of November, 4 moths appeared in the traps ...
