The hopes of a hat-trick of garden firsts on three consecutive nights were soon put aside as the mist started to fall at around 10pm onwards. resulting in thick fog by dawn.
Up until then I had recorded 19 moths of 9 species.
The first Brimstone butterfly of the year was seen in the garden yesterday.
