18th March 2014 ... Seeing Red

Red Chestnut
 Nice to find a Red Chestnut amongst the Orthosia species and Early Greys in the trap, a good addition to the year list.
Last nights trap haul ....

    Lovely Red Chestnut buddy. I didn't run the trap last night and I am glad I didn't, it was so windy and quite cool with a clearing sky. Tonight though...could be good.
    Never had a Red Chestnut in the garden, or Yellow Horned/Frosted Green, but all 3 were annuals on my parents farm adjacent to woodland. Good luck guys, we are all pretty close at moment...until about June where I can't keep up!
