Small Fan-footed Wave has been an obvious oversight in the past, discarded as one of the numerous Dwarf Cream Waves that abound at this time of year.
On poorly marked examples I find them difficult as I am shape dyslexic, but this one has no brown along the leading edge of the forewing and the two forewing dots are between the first and second cross-lines and the hindwing dots are between the second and third cross-lines, whereas Dwarf Cream Wave has all 4 dots between the 2nd and 3rd cross-lines.
So unless I've dropped a cod somewhere, this is a garden first Small Fan-footed Wave ....
