(micro .. Pammene fasciana)
The nights are slowly warming up again, with the lowest temp on 10 deg., but not until early daylight.
Shaded Broad-bar made its 2014 debut as did the large pine tortrix Lozotaeniodes formosanus.
Another micro which I forgot to photograph is believed to be Cydia splendana but hard to tell with the only shot being a very poor "shot in a pot".
Soon know for sure though as our micro man Mr Manning has it for a closer look, what do you think ?
above ... Cydia splendana ?
below ... Shaded Broad-bar
below ... Lozotaeniodes formosanus
Tonight, myself and Captain Trappingsof success will be trapping in our local "Home Wood", as we are long overdue.
Ben Sale of Essex Moths (bennyboymothman) is joining us with his traps and we are looking forward to meeting up with Ben after reading his blog for a few years now.
Results later.
Hi Trent.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it, traps at the ready!
Your suspected Cydia splendana is a Pammene fasciana, a lovely looking moth when fresh like yours.Let me guess, it was playing hard to photograph?
I've had all morning like that with the moths from last nights catch, its blooming frustrating.
See you soon.
