19th March 2011, Diurnea fagella, love will find a way...

She spent a night in my fridge, while I scoured the  flightless females in the Moths Fieldguide, eventually thinking it was a deformed Buttoned Snout or something as nothing was even close. I had no idea it was a female Diurnea fagella at the time until Andy Banthorpe saw it on the blog and recognised it.
So I put it back where I found it, near an old piece of plywood leaning against the shed wall.
She duly climbed back up the ply and sat there for 3 nights until earlier tonight, when  a handsome male turned up.
Mills and Boon couldn't have scripted it.
