3rd July 2013 ... Garden Moths catch list

Another bumper night in the garden traps with 9 new for year additions. Min temp ...11 deg C
Two of the 4 Privet Hawks were torn to pieces in the trap along with a Silver Y, and several other moths were found dead but intact, probably the work of a  Hornet.

2nd July 2012 ... Boring !

European Corn-borer was added to the year tally on yet another rainy night.
1375..European Corn-borer, Ostrinia nubilalis
The trap went on just before midnight when the rain had stopped, although there were light showers through the night and the trap was a bit on the damp side by morning, but a nice variety turned up.

Last night turned up some interesting species in the one Skinner I had operating. The weather was a little warmer than the night before and the wind had dropped.
