30th June 2014 ..Garden Moths latest

The last three nights have been on the cool side by late afternoon and into the evening.
Catch numbers have been low and micro moths have been scarce, especially the small ones.
Last night was much better and the temperature stayed in the high teens until the early hours.
The day started off well with a Large Skipper being added to the butterfly year list.

Minimun overnight temperature; 12.6 deg
A warm, calm night with a hint of humidity raised the catch numbers.
100 plus macros were recorded with the bulk (40) being Shuttle-shaped Darts.
c50 micros.
A year first Copper Underwing agg. and two year first micros were added but just one worn Heart and Dart in the trap, which dominated the catch before the S-s Dart invasion.
