01/08/13 ... Reed Leopard ? Reed Dagger ?? ............
....... No way !
It's 00.30hrs, camera in hand I am trying to get a picture of a small micro moth that is on the wall near the light trap.
As I am about to return to the house to bring up the pictures on screen, I glanced at the trap.
Clinging to the trap supply cable, like a black 230 v reed stem, was a somewhat confused Reed Warbler ....
It eventually flew off, via the open patio door, doing a circuit of the house, before exiting and flying off into the night.
1st Aug ...
Reed Warbler ... garden first
2nd Aug.
0092 ... Stigmella anomalella ... Rose Leaf Miner (mine on Rosa "Albertine") year first

CORRECTION ... 1114 Eudemis porphyrana (gen det D V Manning) County first
1260 ... Cydia splendana ... Marbled Piercer ... year first

6th Oct 2011
overnight min temp...6.8 deg, strong wind, showers, heavy at times.
Had to cover the traps as the rain was coming in at 45 degrees on the strong wind.
Put them back on at midnight, with clearing skies and temperatures plummeting so the count was well down.
No immigrant moths as yet following the week of warm southerlies.
